First, her “Kathy Griffin: Balls of Steel” was nominated for ‘Outstanding Picture Editing For A Special (Single Or Multi-Camera).’ Also nominated in this category are The Kennedy Center Honors, Robin Williams: Weapons Of Self Destruction and The 25th Anniversary Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Concert.

She and her fellow producers are also up for an Emmy in the ‘Outstanding Reality Program’ category for “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List.” Competition in this category includes Antiques Roadshow, Dirty Jobs, Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution and MythBusters!

I’m excited to report that Kathy has several gigs planned this summer, so get Kathy Griffin tickets to experience her biting, irreverent wit in person.

The procedure will be completed poolside at the Palomar Hotel, Los Angeles.  Kathy Griffin tickets are not necessary since the event is open to the public, with things kicking off at noon.

Griffin reassures critics, “You will not be seeing the actual part of the hoo-ha where the speculum will be going, because I don’t want to have people vomiting… Of course, I don’t want to turn off my gays, so that’s why I went and got vajazzled!  So now I have a row of crystals between my navel and my hoo-ha.”

When asked why she wants to have the procedure broadcasted, Griffin said she hopes to help promote women’s health.  “I started talking to girlfriends of mine, my age and younger, and I just can’t believe how many women are afraid to get a pap smear or they forget or they’ve gone 10 years without doing one… The message is, if you see me doing something so outrageous-some may say repulsive-that should make it easier for you to pick up the phone and call your doctor and go get one in the privacy of your own doctor’s office.”

The DVD includes never-before aired stand-up material, filmed on April 15th, 2009, and is her sixth original comedy special for Bravo.

One of the segments includes a moment where Kate/Kathy refuses to give one of her daughters a sip of water. “I told you monsters to cram a Polly Pocket in those pie holes! Mommy’s doing a satellite feed with Regis!” she yelled.

Estranged husband Jon is played by George Takei (you might remember him from Star Trek) and spends his time with a young cheerleader. “Of course I love kids,” Jon said. “Have you seen my girlfriend?”

The two walked hand-in-hand down the red carpet, and Griffin did most of the talking.  Johnston was only overheard gushing about how “beautiful” Griffin looked for the occasion.

 The date went on through the entire show, as they were seen laughing flirtatiously during the taping.

Johnston is the father of Palin’s young child, and became a tabloid darling after they broke up and he started dishing about their relationship and former Vice President hopeful Sarah Palin, Bristol’s mother.  He has said that he loves the “Hollywood life” and has entertained the idea of a reality show.

As if her stand up wasn’t revealing enough, Griffin dishes about her life before and after she hit it big, with tidbits about her family, her adventures in plastic surgery, her very public divorce, life on the road, and more. 

The buzz is already starting, as Kathy just posted on her official website the Table of Contents to tease her fans. Chapter titles include: “Growing Up Griffin”, “To Live and Bomb in LA”, “Talk Shows: Let the Banning Begin,” and [my favorite] “Nip Fuc###.” The book will be available September 29, 2009 with pre-orders being taken now on Amazon.com.

Kathy has been nominated in two categories: Choice Comedian and Choice TV (Reality) for “My Life On The D-List.”  Teen Choice 2009 will air on August 9th at 8pm, but the voting has already started.  You can vote for Kathy now here, and be sure to catch the show on FOX.
